This terminal is where I would meet Sha when she came to GenSan or I would drop her off to get a ride back home. It is always very busy there with many, many street kids there begging. The authorities there would never chase them off. So when you come there you not only get surrounded by the trike drivers wanting to take you into town, you also have to deal with the beggars. Just make sure you watch your pockets. It's all a part of being in th...

Treacherous roads after a typhoon devastated Mindanao in Nov 2012. My local bus ride through this area as the only foreigner on board was a unique and interesting experience. Having also been a bus driver it was interesting to watch this Philippine bus driver exercise his skills negotiating these muddy and almost impassable roads.

In this video I was just enjoying a bus ride from General Santos City to Koronadal which is 58 Kilometers (36-miles) away. It is a very scenic ride through cities like Polomolok and Tupi. You depart General Santos City from the Bulaong Bus Terminal. You can get to the bus terminal from anywhere in GenSan aboard a tricycle for about 10-pesos (23-cents US). The ride from General Santos City to Koronadal takes approximately 1-hour and cost about 90-pesos (around $2.00 US). A very inexpensive way to travel. As you sit on the bus in the terminal waiting to pull out, vendors surround each and every bus selling cold drinks, chips and snacks. During the ride they will usually play a movie. Not that you will get to see the whole movie, but there is some sort of entertainment during the ride. I pref...
